Features to a green house?

Sunday, November 30th, 2008
Caimunion asked:

What are some key underlying features of a green (eco) home. I’m looking for things outside of the standard, solar panels, garden, compost pile, shade trees, wind breaks etc. Not really interested in internal appliances wither, need more tangible external features.

Shore Patrol Det Subic 83 - 86 asked:

They want biofuels, that causes less food for the starving of the world. Do they really support genecide so they can feel good about owning a flexfuel SUV.
My dear Oliver, soybeans are being used for bio-diesel instead of food. Take your own suggestion and research.

As a licensed real estate agent where are homes selling in the us?

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008
cori1542 asked:

I would like to leave southern CA and have worked in real estate sales for 20+ years. Any suggestions as to where in the US are homes and/or communities selling? Is there a niche market for new home construction (not by a developer) using eco-friendly materials such as Structural Insulated Panel Systems?

Hey, does anyone know where I could buy a new eco-friendly bedroom set for no more than $500.00?

Snow asked:

I’m looking for one in an asian style or antique european. I have very little money and I can’t be driving to people’s homes to look at furniture being sold in the newspaper because I don’t have a car… but I desperately need to get my home and life organized and so I need furniture to do that. I can’t have goodwill bring anything in because the last time I tried that they were so astonished by my home; my mom is a pack-rat… and I am not going through that again! Lastly, I would just really prefer it to be eco-friendly because I care about the environment and I have also read that eco-friendly furniture is better for your health. Please help… Thank you!

Is a stick home better than a concrete eco-block home?

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008
Old School asked:

I am trying to find the pros and cons of traditional stick built compared to a new “eco-block” concrete home (http://www.eco-block.com/). The concrete home sounds great, but my only source has been people on the concrete home business.

Does anyone have any views of the downside of a concrete home? We are looking to build in SC near the coast, so mold and hurricanes are factors we are taking into consideration.

Thanks!
