ninetythreeredcapri asked:

My mom will need to be in a nursing home indefinitely. I need help in determining the eco-safest way to dispose of old prescription drugs and expired over-the counter medications. I hesitate to flush them down the toilet or put them down the drain, thinking that creates extra problems with water management. Could you help please?

How to insulate a home built in 1960?

Thursday, May 29th, 2008
The Hollow Girl asked:

I am buying a house built back in 1960s as a summer home. I want to add more eco friendly insulation without having to rip down the walls. I have heard of companies that blow bits of newspaper into the walls but I have no idea who would even do that where I live (poconos, pa) Are there any other suggestions out there for making my home well insulated. I also forgot to mention there is just a dirt crawl space with newer insulation underneath.

The Duraflame log I bought smells toxic; why?

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008
gpaltrow2001 asked:

I usually buy regular, crackling Duraflame logs, which I love, and which work great. Today I bought a new, green ,eco-friendly Duraflame log. I bought two of them and they were not packaged together. When I got home, the smell from both of them was unbearable. It smelled poisonous. I am afraid to burn it because of toxicity. This new Duraflame log has sawdust, nutshells, cardboard and plant waste; 100% recycleable materials. Their website touts it, but doesn’t say anything about the horrible odor. Any ideas? Have you burned this new log?

“eco-attack”??? They’re using violence to push a political agenda. Sounds like terrorism to me.
